Academic Mentoring Program
The Academic Mentoring Program helps students find Academic Success! Students will be matched with a mentor who will support them to set academic goals and meet them. The mentor and the student will set a consistent schedule to check in and review progress. If the student needs subject matter support, then a tutor will be assigned. The Academic Mentoring Program is designed to hold teens accountable through weekly meetings with the academic mentor. During weekly meetings, they check grades, check progress on individualized academic goals, and assess how many times a student should stop in for support that week.
The Academic Mentor will partner with the student and the parent to have open communication about progress on academic goals. If needed, the Academic Mentor can also be in contact with the teacher, to provide additional support to the student. AMP can work with IEPs!
The Academic Mentoring Program supplements what is taught in the classroom. The program is fun, educational, and designed for teens who need 1 on 1 help in raising and maintaining their grades. Academic Mentors help teens set goals, maintain good academic standing, boost their confidence in school, and develop skills necessary to be successful in both school and life.
PROGRAM COST: $25 per school semester (That’s only $50 for the school year!) (Scholarships Available Upon Request)

The Learning Lab is also the space where a teen in the Academic Mentoring Program will meet with their mentor for check in, engage in school work and meet with a tutor, if needed.
