An academic mentor partners with a student to help them set academic goals and make steady progress throughout the school year. Mentors and students meet regularly each week to check in and provide support. If you have expertise in a specific subject, your knowledge is especially valuable!

Circle Mentors meet weekly with groups of young people to host supportive circles, either at local schools or at The Launch Pad. These circles can be boys-only, girls-only, or coed, and focus on providing a safe space for young people to share their feelings and experiences while developing communication skills. Volunteers in this program are committed to showing up consistently each week, fostering an environment of curiosity, respect, and support.

The Launch Pad hosts a variety of fun and meaningful events for teens and the community, both onsite and offsite. These include music shows, community breakfasts, open mic nights, week-long camping trips, and annual fundraisers like the Santa Run, Chalk It Up, and Share The Love, as well as workshops at our Women’s Empowerment Conference (WEB).

In addition to these events, The Launch Pad offers ongoing weekly clubs where volunteers can engage with teens in specific interest areas, from Dungeons & Dragons to music, creative writing, art, and adventure. Volunteers are crucial in all our activities, whether it’s setting up, tearing down, checking in youth, serving snacks, leading a club, or engaging with attendees. With a flexible time commitment, you can choose to volunteer for a one-time session or on a recurring schedule, depending on your availability. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or new to our community, there’s a place for you to get involved and make a difference at The Launch Pad.

Join our Outreach Team to represent The Launch Pad at community events, share our mission, and connect with attendees to raise awareness about our youth programs. You can also bring your business expertise to teens by hosting a workshop for our Teen Advisory Council or Project Launch, offering internships at your business, or mentoring a teen in a specific career or trade. Additional opportunities include helping out at the Moon Café’s farmers market weekend or joining a committee that supports our ongoing programs. Whether you’re mentoring a teen, offering hands-on experience through internships, or contributing your expertise on a committee, your involvement is key to the success of The Launch Pad and the growth of the youth we serve.
